Frequently Asked Questions
The Department of Education
has provided a State-wide datacommunications infrastructure by providing a 64Kbps VicOne
service with a fully maintained router into each public school in Victoria.
The infrastructure provides
a secure way to connect both the school's Administration and Curriculum
Local Area Networks via a single VicOne service. Also being constructed is a range of
support services, Internet Service Providers and curriculum multimedia resources.
Schools have the option of upgrading
the basic 64Kbps service to higher speeds to support new multimedia applications
or larger numbers of simultaneous users. We have provided a Price Estimator to help schools
predict how much this upgrade will cost. To order an upgrade, print off the Terms & Conditions, fill it out and fax it
to AAPT Networks.
Also provided is a range of
White Papers, network documentation and information on promotional programs for schools
using VicOne networking.
We have also provided a way
for you to look at your school's network utilisation, look at fault records and review any
outstanding invoices. You can also look at your network utilisation reports, look up fault records or look at any outstanding invoices. Some of these
features are only available if your school has upgraded to above 64Kbps Access and you
will be prompted for a username/password.
